ChatGPT Business price in Australia

OpenAI's help centre lists two seat types for ChatGPT Business (formerly ChatGPT Team):

  • Standard: US$20 per user per month billed annually, or US$25 billed monthly. That's roughly A$28.66 or A$35.82.
  • Premium: US$100 per user per month billed annually, or US$125 monthly, with five times the usage of a Standard seat and no five-hour usage limit.

A workspace needs at least two seats, which can be Standard, Premium or one of each. Both seat types include ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex, and you can buy workspace credits for usage beyond the included limits. API usage is billed separately.

OpenAI says pricing "may vary depending on your country and currency type", and its pricing page shows local prices based on where you're browsing from. Check it from Australia before you budget. ChatGPT Enterprise is priced through sales, with credit-based and token-based options. Data residency (storage at rest in Australia) is an Enterprise feature, not part of Business.

Copilot price in Australia

Microsoft publishes Australian-dollar prices, excluding GST:

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Business: AU$31.40 per user per month paid yearly, or AU$37.68 on a monthly subscription, for up to 300 users. Between 1 July and 31 December 2026, existing customers with an eligible Business plan can get the first year at AU$26.91 per user per month on an annual commitment.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot (enterprise): AU$44.90 per user per month paid yearly, or AU$47.15 paid monthly on an annual commitment.
  • Bundles: Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot is AU$35.20 per user per month paid yearly, and Business Premium with Copilot is AU$47.90.

Copilot is an add-on, so you also pay for a qualifying plan. For Copilot Business that's Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard or Premium, Microsoft 365 Apps for business, or Microsoft Teams Essentials. The enterprise add-on works with plans such as Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 and Office 365 E1, E3 and E5.

Copilot Chat is included at no extra cost for users with an eligible Microsoft 365 subscription. It answers from web results and content users add to the chat. Work-based chat, which draws on the content each user can access across Microsoft 365, needs a paid Copilot licence. Microsoft is renaming these products Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Chat.

Claude pricing in Australia

Anthropic shows Australian visitors prices in Australian dollars, including 10% GST:

  • Team, Standard seat: A$34 per seat per month billed annually, or A$43 monthly (US$20 and US$25 in its US-dollar pricing).
  • Team, Premium seat: A$170 per seat per month billed annually, or A$213 monthly, with five times the usage of a Standard seat.
  • Enterprise: US$20 per seat per month, billed annually, plus usage billed at API rates. It adds SCIM, audit logs, custom data retention and role-based access.

Team plans are for 2 to 150 seats. Claude has no fixed message count: usage limits reset on a rolling five-hour window, with weekly limits on top, and depend on the model and the length of your conversations.

Claude's own apps and API don't offer Australian data residency. To have Claude process requests in Australia, you need Amazon Bedrock's Australian inference profile, which is billed per token through AWS. See Claude in Australia.

Gemini pricing in Australia

Google includes Gemini in Google Workspace rather than selling it separately. Its Australian business page lists Business Starter at A$9.90, Business Standard at A$19.80 and Business Plus at A$30.90 per user per month with a one-year commitment, billed monthly. Business plans are capped at 300 users; Enterprise is priced through sales.

Starter includes the Gemini assistant in Gmail and basic access to the Gemini app. Standard and Plus add Gemini in Docs, Meet and other apps, plus Gemini Notebook. The page doesn't say whether GST is included.

What the price doesn't tell you

  • GST. Anthropic's Australian prices include GST. Microsoft's exclude it. OpenAI's help centre prices are in US dollars, and Google's Australian page doesn't say. Compare like with like.
  • Prerequisites. Copilot needs a Microsoft 365 plan, and Gemini needs Google Workspace. ChatGPT Business, Claude Team and AusGPT don't need anything else.
  • Commitment. Annual prices are cheaper but lock you in. Microsoft's enterprise add-on requires an annual commitment even when paid monthly.
  • Usage. Most vendors don't publish fixed message counts, and some charge extra once you pass included limits.
  • Data residency. Australian storage is an Enterprise-only feature on ChatGPT. On the APIs, OpenAI charges 10% more for data residency endpoints on models released from 5 March 2026, and Anthropic charges 1.1 times the standard rate for US-only inference. See AI data residency in Australia.

How we checked these prices

We took every price from the vendor's own pricing page or help centre on 9 October 2026 and kept it in the currency the vendor publishes. Where a vendor publishes only US dollars, we added an approximate conversion at the RBA's published rate for that day, and we didn't convert prices vendors already publish in Australian dollars. Promotions are noted where the vendor lists them. Prices change often, so check the vendor's page before you buy, and tell us if something here is out of date.
